Does Weight Of Blue Ox TrackPro BLU67FR Count Towards Tongue Weight Of Trailer?

Question:

How many pounds does the hitch add to the Tounge weight? Also, does total tongue weight include added tow vehice weight carried behind the rear axle? My trailer TW is 550 lbs. The tow vehicle is a Toyota Sequia 4WD. I estimate approximately 150 lbs carried behind the rear axle. Also, the top of the receiver is 19 The top of the coupler ball is 18 The coupler ball is 2 5/16 Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

The weight of the weight distribution hitch actually does not count towards the tongue weight of the vehicle or trailer due to its role in the weight distribution process. Due to this even though the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 9-Hole Shank - 8K GTW, 800 lbs TW # BLU67FR weighs 90lbs you do not need to worry about it.

You are correct that total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your trailer (550lbs) and the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your Toyota Sequoia 4WD (150lbs). In your case your total tongue weight is right at 700lbs.

Since this system works with total tongue weights between 600-800lbs this is a perfect choice.

Now since your receiver height is 1" higher than your trailer coupler height, you will need to set the hitch at the 1" drop position to get it level.

Lastly this hitch comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball so you will not need any other components.

I included a video of the # BLU67FR for you to take a look at.
