5th Wheel Towing with a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
Can a 2005 Silverado extended cab 4 x 4 pull a fifth wheel camper?

If properly equipped and the 5th wheel does not exceed the maximum towing capacity for the vehicle. I suggest you consult the vehicle specific owners manual for towing specs first because Chevy has determined that fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers should not be towed with some models of the 2005 Silverado. There is a difference between can tow something and towing something safely. For a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 HD with 6-1/2 foot bed you will need a slider type hitch. You will need to match the hitch size to the camper. From the attached images it appears the 5th wheel camper is lighter size so I doubt you will need anything larger than the Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider - Dual Jaw - 16,000 lbs # RP30051 and the Reese Semi-Custom Base Rail and Installation Kit for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches # RP30035.
If your truck does not already have in bed wiring, I suggest the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Connector - 7' Long, # C56070. And for the needed brake controller, I suggest the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles, # 90195.
