Suspension Enhancement For 2019 Ram 1500 With Softer Ride Than Timbrens

Question:

I currently have the TDR1500DQ timbrens on my 19 ram 1500. When towing my 7000 pound camper it has made the ride extremely rough. I seen that they also offer the TDR1500DS which is rated for 6000 pounds. Would this be a better option for me to have a little softer ride when towing? With my current setup the smallest little bump it’s like driving over a speed bump and very jarring.

Timbrens like the # TDR1500DQ provide a nice benefit for helping level your ride, but their hollow rubber design can definitely make things rough. We do have a better option for your 2019 Ram 1500 that will soften your ride, though the 6,000 lb capacity Timbrens won't do that, as you'll still get the more jarring impact due to how the Timbrens are constructed.

The best option for your truck is going to be SumoSprings, with the correct fit for your '19 Ram 1500 being the following:

- SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-307-47

You aren't going to feel the same heavy impact with the SumoSprings that you do with the Timbrens, because the SumoSprings are made of a microcellular urethane which compress independently based on the amount of weight being transferred to your suspension. These are rated for 1,500 lbs, which is more than enough for the weight being transferred from a 7,000 lb camper.

The SumoSprings # SSR-307-47 are still going to be something you notice when going over bumps and the like, but you will definitely have a noticeable improvement compared to the Timbrens.
