Bending Transmission Lines of 2002 Ford Ranger To Install Curt C31063 Front Receiver Hitch
Question:
Hello the instructions say to bend or tie up the radiator heat exchanger line and the return to the transmission line to install this hitch. It appears to me the lines would have to be professionally re routed for this install. Has anyone had this problem? My vehicle is a 2002 Ford Ranger 4x4 extended cab with the tow package installed. I didnt want to take it somewhere to have it installed but, it looks as though I might have to unless you have any ideas. Thank you in advance for your help.

According to Curt, the lines should only need to be bent by a half inch or so. It might be possible to gently bend the metal transmission cooler lines enough so they'll clear the hitch but if that's not possible, having the hitch professionally installed would definitely be the way to go.
