Can Truck Tent Be Built With Folded Up Tonneau Cover?

Question:

Hi, I have a 2018 Chevy Colorado LT that has a tonneau cover. It is the long bed, I think it is 62. The tonneau cover has four folds, and folds toward the front of the truck bed. I would like to fold the tonneau cover and leave it on the truck bed and then set up the truck tent, leaving the tonneau as a shelf, with the tent installed. Once the tent is remove, the tonneau cover can be unfolded and used for storage during traveling. Please tell me if this tent will work as I am hoping. Thank you. P.S. Also want to buy one of the truck bed mattresses you sell for the bed of the truck. Hoping that will work in this scenario as well. Thanks in advance.

It looks like the 2018 Chevy Colorado comes in 61.2" to 74.4" in length. (5.1' - 6.2') The longer was standard on the extended cab. It sounds like the Rightline # RL110761 "6-foot midsize truck) would be right for you, but you should check your dimensions for sure.

Regarding your tonneau cover, since the tent covers over the rain from the inside to the outside, I don't think this would work with the cover in place. However if you can remove the cover portion (not the rails) you might be able to lay them across the rails once the tent is built.

The Rightline # RL110M60 mattress for mid-size trucks measures 76" long x 44" wide x 7" tall making it a good compliment to your truck tent.
