Can Larger Tires be Installed on a 2000 Cameo by Carriage Travel Trailers?

Question:

Currently have st225 / 75 R16 tires on a 2000 cameo They say the tire doesnt carry the load. They say they should be st235 / 75 R16 but it looks like there wont be enough clearance. Any suggestions

This will depend on the capacity of your current tires, but clearance can definitely be an issue. You want to have at least 3 inches from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender and 4 inches between the front and rear tires.

The typical ST225/75R16 tire will be just over 29 inches and the Kenda Karrier ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10501 will have a diameter of 31.6 inches. This also has a capacity of 3,960 pounds at 110 psi per tire, so should get your capacity up to the needed maximum.

If the added height and width keeps you at 3 inches to the top of the fender and close to 4 inches between them, you can definitely upgrade to the # AM10501.
