Will the AirBedz XUV Mattress Still Fit if Seats Can't Fold Down Flat?

Question:

Because the middle row of seats does not fold flat on the 2008 Santa Fe, will this air mattress work, or will the top half be higher than the foot. Wont this be uncomfortable. Thanks

This is actually a very common occurrence. I car camp in my Prius V and the seats don't fold down flat either. You'll want to check how much of a height difference there is for your 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe though. For example, my folded seats are only a couple inches taller than my trunk so it's not that big of a deal.

If you put the AirBedz XUV # 341030 straight down right now, the top will sit higher than the bottom. The good news is that since the mattress is so thick when inflated, it won't be as abrupt of a bump, but there will be an incline.

Most car campers first figure out a way to level out the gap before putting an mattress like the AirBedz XUV # 341032. Some build platforms out of wood if they want a long-term solution. I have a short-term set-up consisting of foam blocks # MAL75VR as a base, a long piece of plywood on top of them, and a mattress topper on top of that. That set-up works best for single mattresses though.

If I want to use the XUV mattress, I would then put my sleeping pad or other cushions underneath the gap between the folded seats and the trunk to create a smoother slope. I'm fine with sleeping on an incline, but it's also not for everyone so that is something you might want to think about.
All in all though, the Airbedz XUV is ideal when your back seats fold flat like how they did in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited when I made a video review on them. Otherwise, car campers end up creating workarounds to make it fit better.
