Troubleshoot 7-Way Aux Power No Longer Working
Question:
I have 2018 subaru outback and hooked this up and it was working. Recently I upgraded to lithium battery on camper and no longer get power to aux power to charge camper battery. Any ideas? Ive checked all the connections and everything seems ok

Start by testing the 7-way on your vehicle. You can test the 12 volt pin to see if it has power with a circuit tester. If it does not then you make sure the connection is not damaged and try cleaning it as well. I would also check the connection to the car battery and the circuit breakers. If it still does not have power then it is possible there is damage to the wire.
If it is not related to your vehicle connection it has something to do with the connection on the camper or the new lithium battery. If you are attempting to charge the battery when it is dead, your power from the 7-way will not work. It is only meant to maintain the charge in the battery, not actually charge it up. If the battery has a charge then I would repeat the steps of checking for damage and cleaning the connection on the camper side. It is also a good idea to double check the connection to the new battery and the ground. If that doesn't work it is likely a different wiring issue in the camper.
