Question:

I am installing a Hi-rise Gooseneck 5th wheel hitch Draw Tite 9480 in my 2002 dodge ram 3500 long bed. The plastic strips are between the ribs on the bed and are holding the hitch up off the bed. Is this correct?

You got it!

The plastic strips on the bottom of the Hi-Rise Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter by Bulldog, Draw-Tite and Reese # 9480 you are installing on your 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Long Bed go in the grooves of the bed floor.

This is to give a level surface for the hitch to rest on, and the added fiction helps keep the hitch from wanting to rotate.

I included a link to the written instructions of the # 9480 for you to take a look at.
