You are 100% correct.

As long as your 2020 Nissan Pathfinder has a fully functional 7-way connector the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 will work perfectly.

If you do not have a 7-way connector you can install one using the Tekonsha # 118273.

This is a great choice as it does not require any wiring or drilling holes in the interior of your new Pathfinder, and can be used in any other vehicle you may own with a functional 7-way connector so you only ever need one controller.
