Why Is The Green Wire For Tekonsha T-One 7-way Connector TK22113 Missing On 2018 Dodge Durango

Question:

Hi, this is a follow up to a question that Brian A asked, titled Help Finding Wheel Connector Needed to Install T-One Connector # TK22113 2017 Dodge Durango. I have the exact problem as him, and I read the reply from Tekonsha and after pulling the entire wheel liner on the RH front of this vehicle Im still only coming up with the same connector and same wire colors as the original poster Brian A. There are no other connectors in the wheel well area. This is a 2018 Durango without factory harness and thats what eTrailer told me to purchase. Please advise, something just doesnt add up here!. Thanks

I reached out to my contact at Tekonsha about the green wire behind the passenger side front wheel liner not being there when your tried to installed Tekonsha T-One 7-way Connector # TK22113 in your 20018 Dodge Durango.

What he said is they have had a few cases where customers have called in stating the same thing, that the green wire is not there. They are not 100% sure why it is not there, or if there is some special trim/RPO code that causes it to not be there.

Luckily it is still possible to get the harness installed and working. What you will need to do is run # 10-1-1 from the blue wire of the kit through the engine bay and through a grommet to where you are wanting to install the trailer brake controller. You will need to hardware this wire to the blue wire on the trailer brake controller you choose as this is the brake output wire.

On the other hand you could just go with the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180 which plugs directly into the 7-way connector and will not require a brake output wire, as it senses when to apply the brakes based on your brake signal wires.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
