Can I Use the TorkLift Lock and Load SideKick Cargo Tray with a Hitch Extender

Question:

I need about 2inch more vertical space between the cargo tray and the bottom of my truck camper in order to fit my generator. Can I use a Receiver Hitch Extension with 4inch -Rise?

Typically when you start using adapters to extend away from the cross tube of your hitch, it gets weaker; in most cases you'll lose around 50% of the tongue weight of the hitch when you use an extension or adapter of any type. If you've got a heavy duty hitch that you're wanting to carry the 16x21 TorkLift Lock and Load SideKick Cargo Tray for 2" Hitches - 200 lbs # TLA7901 on this might not be a big deal since you only need about 250-lbs, but it should be noted.

If you don't already have an extender then I recommend using something like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 8" Drop/Rise # RM-077-8, which has a 400-lbs tongue weight capacity and would be well rated for carrying this tray.
