Why Would Trailer Hub Drums Be Difficult to Pull Off of Brake Assemblies
Question:
Why would the hub be so hard to remove with Dexter self adjusting brakes with easy lube? I was not aware of any problem with brakes and just wanted to repack bearings and I had to pry it off a little at a time. The pads do not look worn out and the wheel spun around real good until I tried to pull hub off. The disconnect brakes seem to work good. The brakes came on 2015 Jayco Jay Flight 27RL and I have pulled 10000 miles mostly on interstate. Trailer has 6 lug nuts, the pad is 2 1/4 inch wide and pad is 10 inches long mounted on metal holding pad that is 12.25 inches. Wheel bearings are L68149 and L44649

Expert Reply:
Is it possible the assemblies wore a groove into the drums which then made it difficult for the drum to pull off? I'd check the drums to see if there's a groove/ridge you can feel where the brake pads rub that would make it hard to pull off the drums?
For new hub/drums you'd then want the part # 84656UC3-EZ.
