The Charge Line Circuit On My 2015 Coachman Class Cs 7-Way Has No Power

Question:

I have a 2015 Coachman camper on a 2014 Chevy Express 4500 Chassis, purchased a Curt Echo wireless brake controller and discovered there is no 12v power at the 7pin connector. Any help finding where coachman or chevy may have hidden the wire or where they may have taped it up. Looking for help getting the 12v connection hot, thank you in advance.

Expert Reply:

On your 2015 Coachman Class C with the 2014 Chevrolet Express 4500 chassis I would recommend first checking the fuses per the owners manual.

It looks like the Auxiliary/Trailer Backup fuse number F26 is located in the floor console fuse block under the drivers seat. The fuse may be missing or damaged and that is why the charging circuit does not work correctly.

If you are still not able to get power to the Curt Echo # C51180 you may need to check the wiring on the connector to see if it has become disconnected or if it was removed by Coachman to serve a different purpose. A Test Light # PTW2993 will allow you to probe the charge line to check for power along the harness.
