Can I Use the Thule EasyFold XT to Transport a 73-Pound Ebike and a 71-Pound Ebike with Batteries?
Question:
I have 2 large and heavy E bikes and Im Wondering whether this easy fold rack will support them both. 1 is 73 pounds with the battery and the other 1 is 71 pounds with the battery . What it easily support them or was the batteries have to come off 1st?

I have a solution for you. Since the maximum per-bike weight capacity of the Thule EasyFold XT # TH90320 is 65 pounds, removing the batteries on your bikes would only work if the batteries decreased the first bike's weight by 8 pounds and the second bike by 6 pounds. If you wish to go with the EasyFold XT, I recommend weighing the batteries in order to see if removing them will get you at (or under) the 65 pound weight capacity. Here at etrailer, we always recommend transporting e-bikes without the battery attached in order to maintain the integrity of the battery.
If you want an option that is guaranteed to hold the weight of your two e-bikes, I recommend the Swagman Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # HLY84FR. The Sport Rider SE has a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 80 pounds, and it includes the same frame-attachment securing method as the EasyFold XT. With the ratcheting hooks on the Sport Rider SE, you will need a Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Electric, Step Through, and Cruiser Bikes # S57FR if you have e-bikes with alternative frame styles. The Bike Frame Adapter Bar will give your bike a straight plane in order to attach to the ratcheting hooks of the Sport Rider SE.
If you need a hitch receiver recommendation, I would be happy to assist you if you provide me with the year/make/model of your vehicle.
