Trailer Hitch & 4 Bike Hitch Mounted Tilting Rack for 2008 Nissan Rogue
Question:
Hello, I am looking for a car hitch and Bike Hitch Mounted Tilting Rack for my Nissan Rouge 2008. I may sell the Rogue in a few months, but I would like to keep the rack for next car if possible. I need to carry 4 adult bikes with different frames. Also, I am trying to avoid the most expensive options. Any suggestions? Thanks

Since you need to transport 4 adult bikes, I recommend that you opt for a Class III hitch receiver as this will offer a higher tongue weight (TW) rating of up to 350 pounds and best handle the vertical load from your 4-bike carrier.
The product page link provided will show you all three options for 2-inch Class III hitch receivers. A good cost-effective choice is the Draw-Tite # 75902 which installs without welding or drilling and includes all required installation hardware. I have included a video demonstrating installation of this hitch in a 2009 Nissan Rogue.
You have many options for tilting 4-bike hitch-mount carriers. I have linked our product page where you can see all offerings. The filters on the left hand side of the page allow you to select the brands, features and characteristics you most prefer. For example, some racks include locks, and there are both dual-arm and single-arm types. Some include the required pin to secure it to your hitch.
An excellent entry-level carrier is the Thule Hitching Post # TH934XTR, a single-arm frame-mount carrier that includes an anti-rattle device to secure it in your hitch. Weight capacity is 140 lbs. Please see the included video review.
If you will be carrying women's or alternative-style-frame bikes, you may need an adapter bar. This simple device fits between the seat post and handlebars and provides a horizontal surface to ease mounting the bike in the carrier and keep it level for safe ground clearance. One such item is the Swagman Easy-Out, part # 64005.
