You can bypass the factory brake controller on a 2014 Dodge Ram. To install an aftermarket controller like the Prodigy P2 part # 90885 you will need to disconnect the integrated trailer brake module (ITBM). Doing so will turn on a warning lamp in the dash.
In order to disconnect the ITBM and not get the warning lamp, your local Dodge dealer will have to reconfigure the TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module), of the truck. Once the TIPM has been reconfigured, and the ITBM has been unplugged, you can use a vehicle specific brake control harness, # 3023-P. If you wanted to find just the stoplight switch circuit though you could match up the wire that lines up with the red wire of the # 3023-P and that would be it.
To disconnect the ITBM, you will need to contact Business Center to remove the sales code (XHC). The TIPM will need to be reconfigured. Once the sales code has been disabled you can disconnect the ITBM electrical connector, under the dash, without getting the warning lamp.
