Solution for Mount n Lock 6”x6” Replacement Bumper that Interferes with Hitch Height
Question:
Our MnL 6x6 bumper mount requires that we remove our hitch receiver assembly. We cannot install the bumper with the hitch receiver on the RV. If the base of the bumper was 2 3/4 inches higher we could keep Hitch reciever. We are looking for a MnL bracket adapter that raises the bumper 2 3/4 inches. We temporarily placed the brackets center to the frame per the instructions and noticed that with a level across both brackets we were 2 3/4 inches short low of clearing the hitch receiver. This is a standard E450 Class C Fleetwood Tioga. The brackets that MnL uses is straight out from the frame centered and does not allow any means of raising the height of the bumper mount. We can’t go any lower with the current hitch receiver without serious RV departure angle issues. Has e-trailer experienced this challenge before? It appears that the bracket options on the site don’t have a bracket that raises the new bumper to clear the hitch receiver. The ones we see extend the bumper or lower the bumper and neither of those options work. Can you guys help us out ? Thanks in advance!

Since there isn't a different set of brackets for use with the Mount-n-Lock Heavy-Haul'r RV Bumper Replacement Kit # MO44VR you'd have to look into having the hitch lowered to allow the bumper to fit with it. RV hitch fits are known to be somewhat challenging so this type of modification is not totally out of the ordinary.
