Troubleshooting A New Fogatti Tankless Water Heater

Question:

We have a 2004 Keystone Cougar Fifth Wheel, model 314 EFS I have installed per the directions, everything works expect it will not fire up and heat the water. I have verified that I have 12 V. My meter tells me I have 13.6 volts at the switch on the heater itself. Unit is grounded to the camper. I have verified that the propane is at the unit, I have loosened the connections and get the smell of propane gas than re tighten. Is there a way to purge the gas valves inside the heater itself? I have verified that I have good water flow through the unit, both with direct connection to a city water system and through the on board water tank. I do not have the directions that can with the unit, seems they got tossed in the trash by mistake. Any help would be Great.

Since you already checked the voltage and and water pressure on your Fogatti Tankless Water Heater # LSB64FR I recommend checking the gas pressure.

The gas pressure range for the normal operation of the water heater is that the maximum inlet pressure cannot exceed 3.3 kPa (13'' w.c.) and the minimum pressure cannot be lower than 1.99 kPa (8'' w.c.). Out of range will not work normally.

Also, you'll want to ensure that you removed the gas inlet cap before hooking up the gas as that could be the reason if you forgot to remove it. You'd still be able to smell gas coming from the connection but none would be getting into the unit.

If that doesn't solve your problem you may just have a bad unit and will want to reach out to LaSalle Bristol to get a replacement.
