Can The Etrailer Cargo Carrier 24 x 62 Be Installed With A Non-Threaded Hitch Pin?

I have a Draw-Tite hitch 76020 for which I have a locking anti-rattle non-threaded J-pin. Is the shank of this carrier compatible with this or any other standard, non-threaded hitch pin?

When installing the 24x62 etrailer Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Steel - Folding - 500 lbs # e98874 you must use either the included anti-rattle threaded hitch pin or the Threaded Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin Lock # e99047. You cannot use a non-threaded hitch pin with this carrier.
