Troubleshooting the Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock on a 2013 Ford F-250
Question:
I recently installed the pop and lock in the tailgate of my 2013 4dr F250. I tapped into the wires in the front passenger door sill with the hope that it’d activate on a double click of the remote. Initially it was working fine except it was activating with a single click with the driver door. I then noticed that the interior courtesy light was not lighting when the doors unlocked. But then a day or so later it stopped unlocking the tailgate but still locks. Any suggestions as to where to look to resolve this? I’m tapped securely into the correct color wires as far as I can tell and the tap is in one of the 3 wires of the same color after they merge into one. Thanks.

I spoke with Pop & Lock to help troubleshoot this issue.
They stated that you may be connected to the wrong wires. The proper wires for the passenger door of your 2013 Ford F-250 should be the grey with a brown/tan stripe and purple with a grey stripe. Make sure to test these to ensure you have the correct ones like in the video I linked below.
They also stated that if the doors of the F-250 are open, it may not lock.
If this doesn't resolve the issue with your Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Lock, part # PAL8250, let me know. I will be happy to help you further.
