Recommended 5-way Connector To Replace Damaged 5-way Connector With Two White Wires
Question:
I have a boat trailer with a five way pin connector that has seven wires. While disconnecting the boat/trailer one afternoon the boat rolled a few feet away from the tow vehicle and the wire harness was caught on the ball hitch. It pulled the wiring harness tight but did not rip any wires from light fixtures. The only damage was in a crimp connection on one of two white wires between the connector and trailer tongue the connector has two white wires, one goes left side and one goes right side and left side white wire was spliced to a small wire screwed into the trailer tongue the splice is where the damage was. I reconnected the splice and the left side works fine. Since this incident, I have no right brake or right blinker trailer lights. Everything on tow vehicle works and have tried two different 5way to 7way plugs. When connected to tow vehicle, all the light work when I lock or unlock vehicle using keyless remote. The issue must be the connector, stress from this incident or damage to wire within the connection. I cannot find a five pin connector with 7 wires like mine. Pin 1- two white wires Pin 2-two brown wires, one to green, one to yellow Pin 3- yellow wire Pin 4- green wire Pin 5- blue wire The green/brown and one of two white wires goes to the affected side. Help please.

I have an option for you, but we do not carry a 5-way connector that has two white wires.
What I recommend is the # A40W5B which has the two brown running light wires, one green passenger turn signal and brake wire, one yellow driver side turn signal and brake wire, and a blue wire which is commonly used for a reverse lockout solenoid.
You will need to cut the connector off the # A40W5B as far back as needed and match the colors. Since you have two ground wires you will need to cut the white wire about half way and splice your two white wires in using a butt connector # DW05745-5 for a secure connection.
I included a video of the # A40W5B and a link to a helpful article on wiring for you to take a look at.
