Recommended 2-Bike Carrier To Clear Spare Tire On Jeep Wrangler And Also Be Used On Motorhome
Question:
Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4inch Hitches - Tilting. Will this work on a Jeep Wrangler with class II hitch and fit on the back without interference from the spare tire? I have 2 e-bikes weighting 48 pounds each with 27.5inch × 2.35inch balloon tires? I also will use on a class C RV occasionally with a class III 2inch receiver

The Thule T2 Classic 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4" Hitches - Tilting # TH9045 should clear the spare tire on the back of your 2021 Jeep Wrangler, but you will need to take a measurement to verify. This bike rack measures 18" from the receiver's hitch pin hole when folded down for use. If you have at least 18" from the hitch pin hole to the rearmost part of your spare tire then it will fit (see photo for measurement). Keep in mind you will not be able to fold this carrier up when the spare tire is on your Jeep because this carrier measures only 3-1/2" from the hitch pin hole when folded up. It is completely compatible with the 1-1/4" class 2 receiver on your Jeep.
The weight capacity of this carrier is 50lbs per bike and it holds tires up to 5" wide, so you won't have any issues hauling your 48lb electric bikes with 2.35" wide tires. This carrier is also compatible with motorhomes, however, it only fits 1-1/4" receivers, not 2". In order to use this on your motorhome's 2" receiver you will need to use Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HT02. I attached demonstration videos for you to check out.
