Highest Rated Gooseneck Ball for Ford OEM Tow/Prep Package on 2018 Ford F-350
Question:
Im looking to purchase the strongest gooseneck hitch available for my 2018 Ford F350 8foot longbed dually as I will be commercially towing a 40foot flatbed with a GVWR of 23,900. Is the Curt C38CR the strongest hitch I can get for my OEM gooseneck/5th wheel in bed system? Or is there a stronger one?

The Curt # C38CR Gooseneck Ball for the Ford OEM tow/prep package has a 38K capacity, which would be limited by the actual towing capacity of the truck itself. The truck's towing capacity can vary according to the bed length, whether the vehicle is a 2 or 4WD, or by the cab style and the gear ratio of the rear differential.
This being said, since the GVWR of the trailer you'll be dealing with is 23,900, you could also use the 30K capacity B&W # BWGNXA2061 which would be my personal preference. The Curt and Reese gooseneck balls have the ball retaining latch located on top of the ball, where it could potentially be damaged by the gooseneck coupler if you miss the ball a bit when lowering the trailer onto the ball. The B&W uses a side-latch arrangement that's out of the way of the coupler. The ball is US-made, and B&W's quality is legendary.
This is the highest capacity gooseneck ball/safety chain we offer for the 2018 Ford F350.
If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed so you don't have to run the trailer connector cable up over the tailgate, you can install one using part # C57008. I'll link you to an install video.
