Bike Rack Options for a Class I 1-1/4 Receiver with Less Than 1-1/2 from the Pin Hole to the Face

Question:

I have Crv 2020 with factory installed hitch class 1, 1.25inch receiver, and the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole to the face of the hitch is less than 1-1/2. Im looking to carry 3 road bikes. I was interested in the Thule racks but it requires the distance from the center of pin hole to the face of the hitch to be greater than 1-1/2inch use those rack. So Im wondering are there racks that works for what I currently have? Or do I need to have a new hole drilled on the hitch by the dealer? Not sure if they would do it. I have concerns with warranty being voided if we drill a hole

I have two possible solutions for you.

First, though, the hanging racks we have available for Class I 1-1/4" receivers will all need 1-1/2" or more from the center of the hitch pin hole to the face.

One of your solutions is to use a trunk-mounted bike rack. I recommend the Saris Bones EX 3, part # SA803. It is a confirmed fit for your 2020 Honda CR-V, and it can support 3 bikes up to 35 pounds each. I've linked to a video review of this below.

Your second option is to speak with your dealer to see if your factory hitch can be removed. We have much better hitches available here for your CR-V, and they will open your options up to much better bike racks. If you'd like to take this route, then I recommend the etrailer Class III, part # e98848. It will be able to support all of our bike racks. I've linked to a video review of this as well.
