How To Convert 7-way European On Trailer To US 4-way Flat Connector
Question:
Greetings, I own a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan that will be towing my vintage1961 Dethleffs German Camper Trailer. I plan on buying the hitch receiver and wiring harness from you but need to know what converter to purchase for the wiring. Your Curt T connector wiring harness has a 4 pole, flat connector and my trailer has a European 7 round pole male plug connector. I appreciate your time and expertise.

The easiest way to plug your vintage Dethleffs German camper trailer that has a 7-way European connector into the 4-way connector on your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan is by replacing the connector on the trailer.
You will need a trailer end 4-way flat connector # 002402 and a 2-wire to 3 wire converter # 118158. You will make the connections with heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10 following the included diagram.
If you do not want to cut off the 7-way European connector on the trailer you can wire the 4-way and converter to a female 7-way European connector instead to make an adapter, but you will need to source the connector from another vendor as we do not carry them.
I included a few video reviews for you to take a look at.
