Brake Controller and Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2007 Toyota Sienna
Question:
Hello again, currently on my sienna I have the 4 way flat installed and operational. Looks like ran to the headlights from previous owner. I got the hitch, with weight dist and sway bar all answered. Now I’m looking to get this bad boy wired to pull this 2,985 Coleman camper with the 7 way plug and brake controller. What do I need to get her lined up? TIA

You'll just need a brake controller, a pigtail and our # ETBC7 Brake Controller Installation Kit.
For a brake controller, a proportional controller would provide the most effective, safe and predictable braking for your trailer. A proportional controller features an internal accelerometer that senses the rate the tow vehicle is braking, and will then send the proper amount of voltage to the trailer brakes so the tow vehicle and the trailer brake at the same rate with neither the vehicle nor the trailer doing all the work. I'd recommend the Brake EVN, part # TK63VR and a reasonably-priced option. You'll also need the # 20127 wiring pigtail.
The # ETBC7 kit includes an adapter to convert your existing 4-pole into a 7-way. It also comes with all the wire, circuit breakers and hardware needed for a successful installation.
I've linked to an install video and a demonstration video showing how the I-Command brake controller works.
