Installing Air Lift Load Controller I Compressor System In 2019 Ram 1500

Question:

I installed the Air Lift HD 1000 air springs on my 2019 Ram 1500. Now I have the Air Lift Load Controller 1, dual path, to install. Several issues. 1 Unlike the video from the website using an older Chevy truck, my Ram has a box frame. Therefore, the bolts and nuts cannot be used to install on my frame. Instead I’ll need to purchase self tapping screws. Would be nice in the kit. 2 Any hints or tips on running the wires and air lines in to the cab would be greatly appreciated. 3 My truck has the Captain chairs not a bench seat. The gauge cannot be install in the middle as in the video. I am having great difficulty fining a suitable location to install this rather large bracket and control panel. I just saw a video of a system with a much smaller system. The inflate and deflate buttons on on the gauge AND the gauge can be installed on top of the dash, in the corner. I’d like to keep the install in the cab as clean as possible but the controller I have is rather large and not easily mounted without being the way. Should I have a different system? Or can someone tell/show me a clean install inside my Ram. Any information for easier install will be greatly appreciated.

I would be happy to help.

First since your 2019 Ram 1500 has a box frame I do not recommend using self tapping screws to secure it and instead recommend the Firestone Universal Air Compressor Mounting Kit # F2497 which will use U-bolts to go around the frame and give you a plate to mount the compressor to which will be much more secure.

Second to get the wiring into the cab you will want to find an existing grommet on the floor of your truck. Typically there is a few of them and you can find them by looking underneath the truck. Remove the grommet and poke a hole in it for the wiring to get through, and then you can seal the hole with silicone from the bottom to prevent water from getting in. This will get the wiring underneath the carpet and allow you to route the wires however is needed to get to where you decide to mount the gauges.

Lastly the Air Lift Load Controller I Compressor System # AL25651 you have has rather large gauges, so hiding them or installing them where they are not in the way is going to be tricky. When we installed a similar air compressor kit on a Ram 2500 with a captains seats we chose underneath the steering wheel as you can see in the included video.

For something that is going to not take a way from the looks of the interior of your truck you would be better off with the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Remote - Bluetooth - EZ Mount # AL74000EZ instead as there are no gauges to worry about as you control and monitor the air helper springs with the included remote or the WirelessAIR app on your smart phone.

I included a video of the # AL74000EZ for you to take a look at.
