For your 2020 Nissan Frontier I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake Controller # RED24FR due to it having such a low profile install due to only the knob being visible that it looks like a factory option, and it is a proportional controller meaning that the braking intensity sent to the trailer brakes is proportional to the pressure used to apply the brakes in your vehicle.
Moving on to wiring you will need the # RED39FR which will plug into the factory trailer brake controller port underneath the dash of your Frontier.
