Bestop offers a side mounted truck step, part # B7540215 that would be compatible with your 2012 F150 Super or Extended Cab. The Bestop Step step is spring loaded, and will deploy and retract easily. The pad surface is a generous 11-1/2 by 6-1/2 inches and has a 100 lb higher capacity than the # AS-550 you referenced.

According to my contact at Pilot Automotive, the # AS-550 you mentioned is unfortunately not compatible with the 2012 F150.
