What Might Cause Brake Controller Output to be Low Voltage
Question:
We have tested the connections and the plug in the back of the truck is showing a diminished light when applying the brakes. What can cause this?

Expert Reply:
Brake controllers can show a low voltage on a circuit tester if the output setting of the brake controller is on the lower side. So make sure yours is set all the way up to make sure what you are testing for should be the full brightness on the tester. In general though if you have a brake controller that will only put out a low voltage it's probably got an internal issue and would need to be replaced by something more reliable like the Draw Tite I-Command # TK63VR.
