Do I Need Crossbars To Use The Yakima KeelOver?

Hello. We have a 2003 chevrolet equinox, and wondering if we would need cross bars also to carry a canoe pelican explorer deluxe, 14.6 ft long about 200kms with this kit? Thanks!

If you use the Yakima KeelOver # Y04069, you will have to get a roof rack for your 2003 Chevrolet Equinox. I suggest using the SeaSuckers # 298-SX6000B because they are super easy to install and fit on pretty much any roof.
If you wanted to avoid using a roof rack, what you can do is use these Watersport Pads # MPG152 and place them directly on your roof. they come with all the straps you need to tie down your canoe. Just make sure that your roof can handle the weight and you are good to go!
