Brake Light Malfunction When Not hooked Up To Tow Vehicle
Question:
I have a 2019 F-150 king ranch I tow behind my class A motorhome. All the lights work fine on the truck when hooked up to the tow vehicle but when I unhook the truck I have no brake lights on the truck, only the brake light on the back of the cab works. I thought the first wiring kit was faulty and removed and replaced with a new one and still have same issue.. I have talked to Hopkins with no help and have tried calling e-trailer but could never get to talk to anyone. Do you have any suggestions??

Since you've already replaced the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles Item # HM56009 and are still having the same issue I believe the issue might be with your factory wiring hookup in your vehicle. Check the connector to make sure you don't have any bent pins or debris that could cause a faulty connection. I recommend using some dielectric grease to prevent corrosion and moisture that could cause faulty pin connections.
