Lift Kit for 3.5 x 5 Carry On Cargo Trailer

Question:

Hello, I have a small 3.5foot x 5foot Carry-On cargo trailer model# 3.5X5LSHS. Per Carry-On, it looks it has Dexter axle 2K5140. I would like to flipinch Over-Under Conversion the axle to give some extra height and add bigger rims/tires...but not wider rims, i dont want to have to add spacers. Im not sure what the diameter of the axle is and it has 2-leaf springs. I dont believe i can use Dexter conversion kit K71-384-00. Could you please tell me what parts I would need for an over-under conversion. And would i benefit at all by upgrading from a 2-leaf to a 4-leaf spring since they would be removed. The trailer will mostly be used for camping gear and occasional home improvement projects. Are over-under conversions safe? i have a mid-size SUV so my goal is to get the trailer even its raked with a 6inch hitch/ball, more rugged, more stable, and easier to get things in and out of. Thanks!

I do have an option for you but the Dexter Over Under Conversion Kits are only available for 2-3/8" and 3" diameter axles and I don't think you will have either one of them due to the trailer being so small. That said, we still do have an option in the Lippert Components Standard Axle Lift Kit part # LC425750.

In regards to the leaf springs, I recommend staying with the existing unless they are worn. If you upgrade leaf springs then this can produce a harsher ride. The number of leaves is not a concern.
