Is Weight Capacity of Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Per-Bike or Total
Question:
2013 Honda Fit Sport, We want to carry our 2 bikes using our 2013 Honda Fit Sport. One bike is a 32 lb. mountain bike and the other is a 52 lb. electric bike. In looking over your available hitch/bike racks for this Honda I settled on the Curt, C11064 hitch and the Hollywood HR200Z bike rack. The Hollywood rack is rated for 2 45 lb. bikes and Class 1, 2, or 3 hitches. Since our 32+52 weight is less than 90 lbs. and the Curt hitch is a Class 1 and should accept this bike rack. Thus this combination seems to work. I feel I need to also include a Swagman Adapter Bar 6+4005 as the electric bike is a step through. Do you agree with my analysis before I submit an order?

The weight capacity is per-bike as opposed to total weight for the Hollywood Racks bike rack you mentioned:
- Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Bike Rack # HR200Z
So that means each side of the rack is rated for a maximum of 45 lbs per bike as opposed to the entire capacity being 90 lbs. You could use this bike rack if you wanted to with your 52 lb electric bike, so long as you removed your battery. If removing your battery doesn't get you under the 45 lb limit, then there is another option for a Class I-compatible bike rack from Thule that has a 66 lb per-bike capacity:
- Thule Epos Bike Rack for 2 Bikes # TH99XE
Either of these bike racks will fit and work really well in the hitch you chose for your 2013 Honda Fit, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11064.
Since you have a step-through frame, it is definitely a good idea to go with an adapter like the Swagman Adapter Bar # 64005 or Saris Bike Beam # SA3040
