Based on my research, your 2017 Rockwood A215HW does indeed have electric trailer brakes. So for your 2007 GMC Sierra, since you have the towing package with the factory 7-way, all you will need is a trailer brake controller and the correct wiring harness. For the brake controller, I highly recommend an option from Draw-Tite:
- Brake EVN Trailer Brake Controller # TK63VR
I love the Brake EVN because it is a great value with its unique combination of quality and cost-effectiveness. This brake controller is going to give you smooth braking, is easy to use, and has a bright display that is simple to read and understand. For a combination of quality, reliability, and price, there really isn't a better option than the Brake EVN # TK63VR.
Along with it you will need the correct wiring harness, and that will depend on if your '07 GMC Sierra has a brake controller port under the dash to the left which will allow you to use a plug-in harness, or if there are blunt-cut wires under the dash which would require you to splice in the harness.

- Blunt-Cut Wires: Brake Control Harness for Tekonsha and Draw-Tite Brake Controller # 20127
