Best Trailer Hitch For 2012 Toyota Sienna For Bike Rack
Question:
Hello, I’m looking for a hitch that will only be used for a bike rack. I have not yet purchased the bike rack. I want your opinion for the hitch to purchase for combination of: 1. Easiest installation 2. High ground clearance Thanks PS is the reason some of your degrees of installation difficulty vary from 4 to 10 based on wiring? I don’t need wiring.

The trailer hitch that is the best option for a bike rack for your 2012 Toyota Sienna is going to be the etrailer hitch as it offers the best combination of bumper and ground clearance as well as easiest install; the best hitch is going to be the following:
- etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98837
The bottom of this hitch sits approximately 9-1/2 to 10 inches above the ground, and measures 4-1/2 to 5 inches from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper; it also doesn't require any type of drilling to install. In regards to why some vary in difficulty, it actually isn't the wiring, as that is not a factor in hitch install. It can have to do with if drilling is required or if the bumper needs to be removed, etc. None of that is needed on your '12 Sienna with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98837.
Then in regards to a bike rack that will work for you, that depends on if you are looking for a 2-bike or a 4-bike rack. For a 2-bike rack I love the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider # HR200Z and for a 4-bike rack the Hollywood Racks Destination # HR4000.
Both of these have the needed bumper clearances and also come with a rise in the shank for added ground clearance. On top of that they are really excellent values, offering high quality at an excellent price relative to similar racks, and both would be my top choice for you, depending on how many bikes you need to carry.
