Which Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 for 2017 Ram 1500

Question:

Am looking at the Air Lift AL57365. In discussion your tech suggested AL88365 and AL89365. I am not clear exactly the difference between all three. It appears the 89365 is merely a stainless version of the 88365. And, it appears the difference between the 57365 and the 88365 is that the 88 series has an internal jounce bumper. One reviewer noticed with the jounce bumper his truck rode rougher even without air. Not sure why I would want the 88 series if only towing occasionally and most of the time would not want air in the system? Most of my towing I can level my truck and trailer easily approximately 400 pounds of tongue weight with a weight distribution hitch. However, I am planning a 3500 mile trip, poor roads, frost heaves, etc with 650 to 700 pounds of tongue weight and thinking additional help might be useful and more comfortable. Additionally, even with the lower weight loads I might find the air to provide a more comfortable ride. Seems the 57365 would be more than adequate. Your thoughts? Thanks,

Expert Reply:

Since you want the best unloaded ride quality you would want the kit that does not have the jounce bumper like you mentioned. So based on that the # AL57365 that you mentioned would be more than adequate and would do a great job with your towing setup. You'd have the support when needed and the ride quality when needed as well.
