To replace the hubs on you trailer you will need to know a few things. First, you will need to figure out you inner and outer bearings. This will require removing one of the hubs. There should be numbers stamped into it, but these do wear off over time. If the numbers are no longer legible, you will need to measure the inside diameter to confirm them. Something like the Dexter # 84545BX would use the inner bearing # L68149 (1.378 inch inside diameter) and the outer bearing # L44649 (1.063 inch inner diameter).

From there you will need to determine the bolt pattern of your wheels. If you have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, you can skip this step. However, if you have a 5 lug, you will need to measure the distance from bolt center to adjacent bolt center. The following measurements will determine which you have.

2-5/8" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2
2-3/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4
3" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5
3-1/4" - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2

The last thing you will need to know is the capacity of the axle. There are usually labels on the cross bar of an axle, but these also wear off or fade out over time. If you cannot find a label with the capacity, you can go off the overall weight of the trailer, but this isn't very precise and is kind of a guess. The best way to determine the axle capacity is to contact the manufacturer of the trailer and have them run your VIN. They should have this on file and tell you exactly what capacity axle you have.

Once you know the inner and outer bearings, the bolt pattern, and the needed capacity, we can definitely get you the correct replacement hub.
