Air Helper Springs vs SumoSprings for 2017 Jayco Alante Class A Motorhome

Question:

2017 31p Alante motor home. I tow a 18 ft trailer with about 5000 total pounds. I already have the Sumo springs up front. very happy with them. Would you recommend the air springs or the Sumo springs for the rear?

Air helper springs have their advantages and disadvantages. You can adjust the pressure in the system according to the load, but the weight of a motorhome won't vary much so you wouldn't really benefit from that adjustability. In my opinion you'd be better off using a system like the SumoSprings part # SSF-170-40-2. The system will provide up to 2600 lbs which is plenty to cover the tongue weight of the trailer you're pulling.

The benefit of this system is that they're maintenance free, will never leak and are resistant to damage from road salt, grease and oil and UV rays.

I've linked to an installation video showing the # SSF-170-40-2 being installed on a 2018 Jayco Alante motorhome.
