Can You Switch from 5.30-12 to 4.80-12 Tires On a Trailer
Question:
My utility trailer currently has 5-30-12 5 lug tires. I was given two 4-80-12 5 lug tires....can these be used as back up/spares?

The difference between 5.30-12 and 4.80-12 tires is about 1.3" diameter and .7" width. The only issue when switching to a smaller tire is weight capacity. The Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire part # TT48012C which has a load range c rating is rated for 990 lbs. This is likely less than a 5.30-12 but so long as you are still within range it should not be an issue.
