Question:

I have a 2inch hitch opening looking to transport a 60 # Pedeco Interceptor E bike and a guys 26 inch beach cruiser so 2 bikes. Want something so I can lock them all together as compact as possible love to fit in my garage with the bikes attached I know thats a stretch. Not traveling far under 25 miles any suggestions?

Due to the heavy weight of the E bike and the fact that a beach cruiser is not particularly lightweight, most of the 2 bike racks we offer will not have sufficient weight capacity.

Due to the weight involved, I would recommend a platform-type rack. These racks hold the bike by the wheels with a ratcheting hook that secures the top frame tube. These racks are usually easier to load, which is an important feature with heavier bikes.

My recommendation would be the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider for Electric Bikes, part # HLY84FR. This heavy duty rack will handle bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece and would handle both bikes with no problems whatsoever. According to my Hollywood Racks representative, the HLY84FR would be a perfect fit for your Tahoe. The rack will fold up against the rear of the vehicle when unloaded, and will tilt rearward while the bikes are loaded in order to provide easier access to the cargo area. The rack also includes an anti-rattle device to snug the shank into the receiver to prevent the rack from moving as well as a hitch and bike locks to deter theft.

If the E bike has a step-through frame, you might want to invest in a frame adapter bar like part # HRBA-PRO to provide a level attachment point for the frame hook.

The HLY84FR will add an additional 25 inches to the length of your Tahoe, measured from the face of your receiver hitch rearward, which is pretty typical for a 2-bike rack.
