Difference Between ST235/80-16 and LT235/80-16 Tires

Question:

What difference in ST compared to LT? For example, LT235 85R16 versus ST 23585R16

If you're comparing the same load range tire, the ST235/80-16 will always have a thicker, stronger sidewall specifically designed for the vertical load it'll need to contend with for trailer use. The LT tire is designed for a light truck (hence the LT prefix) but they're acceptable for trailer use as well.

The Kenda Karrier # AM10501 you'd looked at is a load range F tire with a weight capacity of 3,960 lbs per tire/ 7920 lbs per axle. You'll want to make sure that the combined weight capacity of your tires meets or exceeds the GVWR of your trailer.

If you click the provided link, you can see a description video featuring our resident tire expert Jeff who will run through the features of the # AM10501 tire for you.
