2012 Kia Sorento Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs Suspension Enhancement
Question:
Hello, I have a Air Lift 1000 Universal Air Spring Kit - Rear v6 LX with a Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch ITEM # 75684 installed. I recently purchased a 2016 Winnie WD1710 dry 2400lbs / max 3500 lbs. The hitch I purchased from etrailer sits very low very low without anything on it less than 12 inches. When we put the trailer on the vehicle my ground clearance was less than 10 inches. I am waiting on a weight distribution hitch and hopefully that should help with the ground clearance but I am worried about the hitch it comes with. hensley cub One of the big named RV places here in Pensacola, FL recommended air bags to help with the . Now the tongue weight for the Kia and the hitch after research should be 350lbs. the trailer dry is roughly 290. So with all this info, I was wondering two things. 1. Will Airbags help? 2. Will the Air Lift 1000 Universal Air Spring Kit - Rear Item # AL60917 fit on my 2012 Kia Sorento? I appreciate everything and cant wait for your response.

Air bags will definitely help provide suspension and clearance support but for your 2012 Kia Sorento there isn't a confirmed fitting air bag or air spring kit designed yet. What you can do is add coil spring helpers to your springs to enhance your suspension. To do this measure the middle distance on the middle coil of your rear axle springs while it is sitting on the ground so the weight on the car is on them and there you can find the correct fiiting Coil SumoSprings Helpers.
For example if the distance was 15/16" then I recommend the Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper Springs for Coil Spring Suspension - Rear Axle Item # CSS-1125R
If you get a different distance then let me know and I can recommend the correct fitting spring helpers.
