How To Convert 1983 Nissan Pickup W/ Separate Tail Light Wiring To Combined Wiring

Question:

I have mounted the flatbed and plan to run two led lights on each side. 1 for reverse and one for tail/stop/turn. The original wiring harness already had the reverse lights separated from the rest so I was able to connect those and they work. I have a ground, stop, turn, and running light wire trying to go to a 3 wire led light ground, running, and stop/turn. I thought I could twist the stop and turn together and connect to the red wire on the led light but that is causing issues. What do I need to do? Thanks for your expertise.

Based on your description your 1983 Nissan Pickup with a flatbed has a 3-wire system, and your lights are a 2- wire system.

To fix this you will need a 3-wire to 2- wire converter like the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 which will work with your LED lights and convert your tail lights to the 2-wire system you need.

I included a video of the # RM-732 for you to take a look at.
