How to Mount 7-Way Trailer Connector to Cross Tube of 13367 Hitch on 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Question:
I ordered a Curt 13367 a while back from Etrailer for my 2013 FJ Cruiser. It fit great, but my only use for it was a bike rack. Now we have decided to purchase a small travel trailer, so I purchased the ETBC7 kit to upgrade my factory 4 pin connector to 7 pin. My question is where to mount the 7 pin bracket? The 4 pin is behind the round tube of the Curt hitch which didnt matter for a bike rack. The only viable space I have is on the bottom of the hitch tube to keep it fairly close to the receiver. Would you all have any concerns with mounting it there? If I had it to do over I would have got the Draw-tite with a lower profile. But the Curt is what I have and need to make it work. In the picture I indicated a probable location. The red rectangle indicates my existing 4 pin. Thanks!

I'd recommend using the # 18136 No-Drill bracket. The bracket attaches to the hitch crosstube using the included pipe clamp and can be installed coming off the bottom of the crosstube with the mounting bracket from the # ETBC7 kit attached in a downward orientation, or coming off the top of the crosstube in an upward orientation for more ground clearance. If you look at the customer-submitted thumbnail photos on the linked product page, you can see many different mounting options using the # 18136 No-Drill bracket.
