Parts Needed to Use Curt Echo on 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE
Question:
I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE with the factory installed 4 pin connector and hitch receiver. I would like to add a 7 pin connector and brake controller for my trailer. What parts will I need? I am interested in the Curt wireless brake controller, but I want to be sure I have all the parts that I need in addition to the controller. Thanks.

In order to add a 7 way connector to your 2021 Toyota Highlander XLE to use with the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 you'll want to use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation # ETBC7L. The # ETBC7L will use your existing 4-way connector and since this particular 7-way is designed to work with wireless brake controllers (like the Curt Echo # C51180), you won't need to worry about running the brake controller output line into the cabin of the vehicle.
This is a great solution for your 2021 Highlander XLE and you'll have all of the parts you need to install a 7-way with the # ETBC7L kit. I've linked a review and installation video of this 7 way you can use as a rough guide.
