Can I Use Dexter Brakes, Wheel Bearings, And Seals On My Henschen 3500 LB Axle

Question:

I have a 2007, tandem wheel, Thule, Destination aluminum enclosed trailer. I thought it had Dexter axles but discovered it has Henschen Dura-Flex, 3500# torsion axles. It has electric brakes on all wheels. I want to switch to Nev-R-Adjust electric brakes and also replace the bearings and seals. Can I use the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust electric brakes, wheel bearings and seals with the Henschen axle mount, spindle and hubs? Henschen is out of business and I cant find any info on them. Thank you for any help.

To determine if the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Item # 23-468-469 for 3500 lb axles is compatible with the Henschen axle on your 2007 Thule Destination trailer, you need to measurement the hub. The Dexter drum is 10" x 2-1/4" and requires a 10" diameter drum. As far as mounting it to the axle, it has a 4 bolt mounting flange that measures 2-7/8" center on center.

As far as the bearings and seals, the easiest way to find out is to remove one of the hub assemblies. Each bearing and seal will have a number stamped on the face. The each number will tell you what bearings and seal are needed for the Henschen 3500 lb axle.
