RV Power Converter Making A Clicking Noise

Question:

The power converter makes a clicking noise, but it stops when we turn the 15 amp breaker that controls the power to most of the lights and outlets. We are currently connected to regular power from the house.. What can we do to fix it. Thank you

It's possible the noises you describe hearing from your RV's Converter/Charger when plugged into electricity are normal. If you listen closely you will also hear a humming sound which is also normal. The clicking and pinging sounds you are hearing are relays opening and closing or cooling fans kicking on and off.

If that's not the case then your converter may be trying too hard to keep up with the draw. You said you're using shore power so you'll want to make sure you're set to AC voltage mode as DC voltage mode is only for when you're traveling.

If you're talking about the Power Invertor clicking then that suggests the charger is encountering a problem trying to charge the battery, either a short (excessively high current draw) or high resistance to charging which you'll need to check your battery connection and ensure there's no corrosion and that it's properly connected.
