J-Hook for Attaching Cargo Box to Cargo Carrier
Question:
Getting an 50 x 22 aluminum rear cargo carrier that s into a 2in. hitch. Also, a Dee Zee 56 × 20 inch tool box to be fitted in the carrier. Want to use square mounting bolts, such as on this kit, to affix the box to the carrier. Question is do the knobs tighten down the total length of the threads. The distance between the bottom of the carrier struts and the inside of the box is probably not more than 3inches. Dont see any opening on the top end of the knobs for the square bolts to pass thru. Also, is this kit heavy duty enough for this application? The box weighs 50lbs. Any input would be greatly appreciated !

The knobs of the Heavy-Duty Crossbar Fit Kit # RUBK-MF would only thread about half way down the threaded portion of the u-bolt. A better choice might be the part # UWSJBOLT which is normally used to attach truck bed tool boxes to the bed by the bed rails.
